Personal Health Records
Issues – What are PHRs? Will they be helpful to people, healthcare providers, others? What are the security and privacy issues? Are there other problems?
Approximate Time: 9:00am - 10:30am
Panelists:
1. Josh Kinsler – Moderator - Senior Security Architect at Community Health Network & InSPN’s vice-chairperson
2. Dan Rench, VP for e-business at Community Health Network – the force behind Community’s new Personal Health Record
3. Christopher Sears – attorney at Ice Miller- very knowledgeable about HIPAA issues – participant in the National Health Information Network (NHIN)
4. John Kansky, Indiana Health Information Network (IHIE) and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
5. Josette Jones, Ph.D. Indiana University School of Informatics - Presently conducting research about public perception of Personal Health Records
Speakers will take about 10 minutes each to discuss area of expertise then these presentations will be followed by a Q & A period.


Disaster Preparedness in the Wake of Floods, Tornados, etc
What did we learn from the recent spate of natural disasters? -What processes, procedures and other advance preparations helped/worked? What didn’t? What was missing?

2. Jim Hartsook - IT Director for Bartholomew County Government, Columbus, IN

4. Jonathan Nichols – VP IT, PA Labs in Muncie, IN
5. Mike Salazar, Gregory & Appel Insurance - Will discuss coverage issues working with your carriers to make sure you have adequate protection & what to do when a disaster happens
